G'Day All,
I decamped at Lake Eildon on Feb 24th and travelled via Yarck, Yea and Ghin Ghin to Torquay at the start of the GOR, zoomed down through Anglesea, Lorne and Apollo Bay and set up camp at Aire River camping grounds, a free camp site. About 480k's for the day. As much as the drive itself is fantastic the towns have become touristy eat strips, unlike Mansfield that has seemed to have maintained its natural and original shop frontages and character. But that's why I have a camper and can get away from these places.
It has been 39 degrees some days and today is about 16 and a lot less with the wind chill. Pics of sunsets are on the hot days and today I am parked looking at the sea facing a 50 plus kmh SE wind. Its rockin'.
Yesterday I met a couple from Cootamundra, who knew of the Hanlons and she has an uncle in Tallimba. Later that day we met again and they were talking to Chris Grinter from Burcher, near West Wyalong, who knows the other unrelated McKenzie clan from the Ungarie area. Big country, ha !
K's to date 1700.
